Hey paw-some people! 🐾✨
Last week, we visited two packs of street dogs in Panajachel in Lake Atitlan with our resident vet and a small team of volunteers. We wanted to vaccinate and deworm up to 30 dogs, as well as treat them for fleas, ticks and mange. Thanks to YOU and your donations, and our team of volunteers, we vaccinated and dewormed 16 dogs and treated 19 for fleas, ticks and mange.
This is incredible. Many of these dogs, which are aged 8 weeks – 8 years, are suffering with terrible skin conditions and parasites. These medical treatments will make a big difference to their lives. 💕
Our goal is to have a network of short and long term foster homes here in Guatemala, an adoption program in and outside of the country, and a short stay rehabilitation center where dogs can recover from their sterilizations and other rehabilitation needs.
Until then, we do what we can to help and care for the dogs that remain on the streets of Panajachel, including vaccination clinics.
Thank you for all your support; thank you for your donations, for your time volunteering, for your kind messages and for sharing our content with your network to help spread the word. ✨️
