Hey paw-some people! 🐾✨
If you’ve been following us, it’s likely you’ve seen or heard of our darling Bug. Bug was found when he was around 2 months old, just moments away from not making it. His blood work was SHOCKING, he had terrible skin infections and his energy levels were non existent.
With the help of some lovely ladies and the support of Stray to Stay, Bug was given a chance to live. His transformation was truly heartwarming and we were delighted to be able to be a part of and watch his journey.
After one month, we took over from Bug’s original foster mum and he joined one of the founders and her pack. He was welcomed by the other dogs instantly and developed some incredible bonds with some of the other younger dogs. There was a home waiting for him in New York City so it was our responsibility to make sure he was healthy enough to fly and had the correct paperwork. We also had to organize flights, flight angels and other logistics of traveling with a dog.
At the very last minute, the people adopting him backed out and we were left with just under $2,000 of expenses. Not to mention, plans to fly a dog to the USA with no home to go to.
It seemed like a waste to not take Bug, so we agreed that we would fundraise what we could and one of our founders would stay in New York with him until he found his forever home. And so, we began our journey from Guatemala to New York City with our beautiful Bugaloo.
There were lots of potential families interested but none were quite the right fit, until we met Matt. They were a match made in heaven and their connection was instant and pure. It was so wonderful to see and a welcome reassurance of why we do what we do.
Bug has been thriving in New York ever since and we couldn’t be happier for him. We love you Bug!
Thank you to everyone who supported Bug’s journey and played a part in giving him a second chance at happiness! From donations to sharing our Instagram posts, you all made such an impact on Bug’s adventure.
